อยู่ใน petrous part of temple bone
ใน cochlear มีspace , memb , space ใน memb เรียกว่า membranous labyrinth
– space ใน bone – bony labyrinth
– มี fluid perilymp ระหว่างbone-memb , fluid คล้ายๆ CSF ~ ติดต่อกับ csf in brain
– endolymp อยู่ใน membranous labyrinth , hair cell detect การ movement , มี potassiumมาก ,มี cilia ลักษณะพิเศษ เรียกว่า steatocilia , มี fold คล้ายๆใน gut
– เมื่อ steatocilia เกิด deflect จะเกิด depolarized , repo -> เกิด action potential in neuroscience <- อันนี้ทำให้ endolymp มีความพิเศษ
– แต่ถ้า endolymp – perilymp มาปนกัน มันจะไม่ทำงาน
