hair growth ใน human มีมากกว่า Other mammal เพราะมีมากถึง 100,000 – 150,000 hair follicles , และถ้าไม่ทำอะไร ภายใน 3 เดือน ผมยาวรวมได้ถึง 30 Km.
Structure of Hair
cross section of hair มี 3 ส่วน
– cuticle
– cortex
– medulla
main constituent of hair คือ sulphur-rich protein , lipids , water , melanin , trace element
– cortex เป็นส่วน Main bulk , fully keratinized hair shaft , มีผลทั้งด้าน strength and elasticity
– cuticle มี 6-8 layer , flattened , overlapping , direct ไปยัง tip of hair shaft
– Innermost คือ endocuticle , มาจาก cell cytoplasm contents
– exocuticles ชิดกับ external surface ประกอบด้วย 3 parts
