Basic concepts of tooth sensitivity
อธิบายจาก hydrodynamic theory – Brannstorm , Orchardson ,Gillam
พวก stimuli – ทำให้ rapid outward flow of fluid ใน dentinal tubules -> ทำให้ p. change ข้าม dentin -> stimuli pulpal A-d nerve fiber , ทำให้เกิด perception of pain
cold เป็น common stimuli
มักเกิดเมื่อ tubules ยังเปิด และมีการติดต่อกับ oral enviroment
คนที่มี hypersensitive dentin จะมี larger and more numerous tubules มากว่า normal nonsensitive dentine
ยิ่ง greater , larger tubules -> เพิ่ม dentinal fluid flow -> amplify severity response to – external stimuli ให้ดู พท area of circle

ซึ่งปกติจะคลุมโดย smear layer จาก loosely bound organic and calcified debris – clogs dentinal tubules ทำให้ไม่เปิดสู่ env
เมื่อ smear layer เปิด ก็จะ susceptible to env
smear layer นี้remove ง่ายโดย dietary acids , gastric acids , detergents ใน toothpaste and rinses
Dentin ถูก expose ด้วย 2 process
– loss covering peridontal structure eg gingival recession <- mc
– loss of enamel (tooth wear)
dental hypersensitivity- บางทีอาจจะมี symptom complex กว่าตัวโรค
condition ที่ทำให้เกิดอาการ
