harddrive , hard คือ rigid platters , ทำจาก aluminum or glass

Blocks intersection of track adn sector – เรียกว่า block , คือเรียก cylinder , head , sector , และ block เป็นส่วนเล็กสุดของ geometrical breakdown of disk , เป็น small amoun data ที่สามารถ transfer from disk , มักจะ 512 bytes
แต่มักจะใช้คำว่า sector แทน block
Hard Drive type
ATA/IDE drives – Advance technology attachment , integrated drive electronics , IDE คือ ส่วน controller ภายใน
ส่วน ATA – 2 type คือ -> Parallel ATA , Serial ATA

Serial ATA(SATA) เป็นตัว successor ของ traditional PATA (parallelATA)
ไม่ต้องจำกัด data cable length ตอ้งไม่เกิน 18 inches , อาจจะถึง 40 in ได้
hot swappable-สามารถสับเปลี่ยนได้
เพราะเป็น serial จึงต้องการ cable น้อยกว่า
ใน most motherboard ที่มี SATA สามารถมีได้ถึง 8 devices
drive ไม่ต้องมี master or slave configulation
SATA devices 150-300MBps
SATA devices อาจจะย้อนกลับไปใช้ PATA drive ได้ แต่อาจจะต้องเพิ่ม SATA bridge device or adapter เพื่อให้มัน recognized SATA
eSATA – external , ให้ speed มากกว่า FireWire or USB , 50-60 MBps
SCSI – small computer system interface . แตกต่างจาก ATA ,
ปกติใช้กับ high end hard drive , tape back up unit
ต่อกันเป็น chain
แต่ละ device ที่ได้ SCSI ID , SCSI chain ต้อง terminated at end
SCSI chain หรือ SCSI controller , เป็น interface ระหว่าง devices – PC
เป็น intn , external connecting , 68-pin ribbon cable ใช้กับ internally , และ 50-pin สำหรับ externally , high density
สามารถใช้ได้ 15 devices ต่อ 1 hot adapter/controller
SCSI IDs : เพื่อ differentiated ระหว่าง multiple devices connect กับ one controller , range 0-15
mostly ใช้ 7-15 สำหรับ host adapter/controller
IDs จะไม่ conflict ระหว่าง seprate chain – different controllers
Termination ถ้า proper terminationไม่มี จะเกิด echo , ตัว echo สร้าง disturbance – SCSI device communication

Video/Graphic Card <- video card or graphic card , รวม GPU (graphical processing unit) , memory , cooling mechanism , connection to display device
อาจะมีความแตกต่างระหว่าง video card vs integrated graphics
วางบน PCIe expansion bus
แต่ถ้าเป็น integrated graphics- embedded บน mother board
image ที่เราเห็นบน monitor – เกิดจาก tiny dot <- pixel , screen display > million pixels ~ translate binary data ตรงนี้ จาก CPU -> ทำให้เกิด picture
ถ้า computer ไม่มี graphic capability บน motherboard -> มันจะถูก translate at graphic card

GPU – แตกต่างจาก CPU มีเพียง 2-16 cores , ส่วน GPU process มีเป็นร้อย พัน small cores or units วิ่ง parallel -> เพื่อให้เกิด complex graphics operation
Nvidia เรียก core or processor ว่า Cuda cores หรือ Shaders
ส่วน AMD / ATI – เรียก Stream processor

HDMI โดย 6 บ.ยักษ์ใหญ่ ตั้งแต่ 2002 มี 80-odd vendors เป็น members of HDMI forum
HDMI audio/video interface ใช้หลายๆที่ เช่นTVs, set-top boxes , media streamer , Blu-ray , A/V receivers , gaming console , camcoarder , digital cameras , และบาง smartphose
มักจะพบ HDMI output port ทั้งใน consumer desktop , laptop
และ input port ในหลายๆ all in one PC เพื่อ เล่น gaming console , set-top box ใช้ internal display
