เมื่อเราเจอภาวะ amblyopia(ตาขี้เกียจ) หรือ strabismus ในเด็ก สิ่งแรกที่จะต้องตรวจก่อน เช่น VA (visual acuity)
– ดูโดยรวมของ strabismus , corneal light reflex test , cover test
– ตรวจ ophthalmoscopy ในเด็ก เพื่อ r/o (rule out) organic cause ต่างๆ
Ambloypia พบได้ประมาณ 2% ใน young adult
– ถ้าเรา detect และรักษา early ก็สามารถหายได้
– ควรรักษาก่อน 5 ปี , ถ้าหลัง 10ปี มักจะไม่สำเร็จ
– พบอย่างน้อย 50% คนที่มี amblyopia จะมี strabismus ด้วย ,มี misalignment of two eyes
